President Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Development for All Nigerians

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has restated his unwavering commitment to building a united, equitable, and prosperous Nigeria—where no citizen or region is left behind, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or geographic location.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President emphasized that every policy, project, and initiative under his administration is grounded in the principle of national inclusivity—not sectionalism or political favoritism.

According to President Tinubu, the oath of office he swore on May 29, 2023, continues to be the moral and constitutional compass guiding his leadership. He reaffirmed that the mandate he received from Nigerians obligates him to uphold fairness, justice, and national unity in every action of government.

“The oath I took is not a ceremonial ritual. It is the foundation upon which I anchor every decision, every infrastructure we commission, every reform we initiate—from roads and bridges to power stations and hospitals,” the President stated.

Highlighting his administration’s commitment to equitable development across the federation, President Tinubu cited several landmark projects that reflect the federal government’s balanced and nationwide approach:

  • Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway: Stretching across southern Nigeria, this ambitious project is set to revolutionize transportation, trade, and tourism in the coastal regions.
  • Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway: Connecting the far North to the West, this highway will boost trade and open up rural economies across multiple states.
  • Port Harcourt–Maiduguri Railway: Spanning the Southeast to the Northeast, this rail line underscores the government’s focus on reviving interregional connectivity and logistics.
  • Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Expressway: A major transportation artery being rehabilitated to improve mobility, safety, and economic productivity in the North Central and Northwest.

“These projects are national investments—not local rewards,” Tinubu stressed. “They belong to the Nigerian people, not to any tribe or zone. They are testaments to our belief in the unity of this country.”

National Impact Beyond Roads and Railways

President Tinubu also pointed to major developments in other critical sectors:

  • Healthcare: Rehabilitation and upgrade of hundreds of Primary Health Centres across all 774 local government areas to enhance grassroots healthcare delivery.
  • Mass Transit: Approval of light rail systems for major urban centres including Lagos, Kaduna, Kano, and Ogun States, aimed at reducing congestion and boosting productivity.
  • Youth Employment: Through various federal initiatives and public-private partnerships, over 250,000 direct and indirect jobs have been created since the administration began, with more to come under upcoming skill acquisition programs.

Energy and Connectivity

On the energy front, the President announced the successful revival of the long-dormant 255MW power plant in Kaduna, which is now coming back on stream. The Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline, one of the administration’s key energy infrastructure projects, has crossed the River Niger, symbolizing tangible progress toward improving power supply and industrialization in Northern Nigeria.

In the South-South region, bridges in Bonny and Onitsha are reconnecting previously isolated communities, enabling freer movement of goods and people. Additionally, oil exploration activities have expanded into Bauchi and Gombe States, broadening Nigeria’s energy frontiers and creating new economic corridors.

“Renewed Hope” for All Nigerians

President Tinubu reiterated that the “Renewed Hope” agenda is not just a slogan, but a governing philosophy rooted in equity, opportunity, and shared prosperity.

“This is the equity of Renewed Hope. No Nigerian is a second-class citizen. No region is excluded from progress. Every corner of this country matters. Together, we shall rise—as one nation, one people, and one shared destiny,” he said.

He concluded with a patriotic call to action, urging citizens and investors alike to believe in the future of the country:

“Bet on Nigeria. Our best days are ahead.”
